Many visitors have found this to be their “go-to place” when visiting Sea Ranch. Trinks has an energetic, efficient and very friendly staff. Try the clam chowder (some of the best you’ve ever had) and the VERY fresh salads. This wonderful family-run cafe offers specialty sandwiches, homemade desserts, gourmet coffee and locally-handcrafted Pazzo Marco gelato. The dinner menu varies daily depending on what’s available from local vendors. Enjoy seating inside or outside with views of the estuary.

Many say this is the best restaurant on the Sonoma coast. In a beautiful setting, you’ll find excellent food and very friendly service. Well-traveled Sea Ranchers will tell you that you’ll not find better martinis anywhere on the planet–very refreshing and not what you would typically expect. They serve north coast cuisine created from fresh local ingredients including freshly-caught fish, wild game and wild mushrooms (wonderfully prepared by owner Rosemary Campiformio). This local favorite is perfect for that special occasion, and the unique architecture whisks you back to the 1800s when Russian fur trappers and traders inhabited the area.

The historic Stewarts Point store (which dates back to 1868) got a fantastic makeover when it reopened under the new ownership of Margaret Smith and Hilla Ahvenainen of Twofish Baking Company in 2013. Just a 10-minute drive from Vista Del Mar, this hidden gem bakery/market/eatery features soft serve ice cream, savory coffees, gourmet sandwiches, salads, warm calzones and–of course–their incredible sticky buns! Simple, uncomplicated, mouth watering…they create art that just so happens to be delicious. This is one stop you won’t want to miss on your next Sea Ranch visit!

If you tell friends you’re coming to Sea Ranch, those who have been here will say you must go to the Thai Kitchen in Anchor Bay. Just 15 minutes from Sea Ranch, they feature incredible spring rolls (crisp and fresh, with lots of mint and basil and excellent dipping sauces). The owners are very friendly and their menu features authentic Thai cuisine, including vegan and gluten-free options. They specialize in exotic flavors and aromas of Thai cuisine using fresh, local organic ingredients whenever possible. Please note they are cash only.

This delightful taco place is tucked in the corner of the bright yellow building shared with Tangles Hair Salon in the middle of Gualala. The family-run business provides solidly authentic, flavorful Mexican dishes. It’s open for breakfast, lunch and early dinner. Always ready to offer up chips and salsa, you’ll find the service is friendly. Locals enjoy the hearty tamales, fajitas, tacos and chile verdes accompanied by an array of salsas and beverages like horchata, agua frescas and Jarritos.

Located at the south end of the town of Gualala, the Vue offers a great location with beautiful views of Gualala river estuary (including a weather-permitting outdoor area). The restaurant serves California cuisine and their creative chef whips up savory specials of the day. The bar is a great place to rub elbows with locals and tourists alike. Service is excellent, laid back and polite.

If you’re looking for great Mexican fare, don’t miss MiraMar, where you’ll find mostly Mexican specialties and traditional items. Their corn tortillas are freshly made and refried beans always tasty. Choose from a variety of different margarita flavors; all are delicious (and sweet!). The servers are warm and friendly and their menu offers something for everyone. The inside is bright and colorful and when you sit on the ocean side of the restaurant you won’t miss an amazing view! Please note their last dinner seating is 7:30 pm.

Another of the newer restaurants in town, The BlackDoor is a welcome addition. The owners are very involved with the restaurant and are happy to provide detailed descriptions of their fare. Not all Mexican restaurants offer Al Pastor, so don’t miss this special treat. A local favorite is their abundantly-filled veggie burrito, and some say their breakfast huevos rancheros and ham torta are the best in town. Everything they serve is hot and fresh with a variety of salsas to choose from.

This charming coffee, tea and sweets shop is owned and operated by Torry and Amanda J. Olsen. This location has historically been a community gathering place in Anchor Bay Village (when it was known as the Blue Canoe). Today, WhiteCap continues to be a source of excellent coffee, serving local “Little Green Bean” coffee, fair trade and organic brews. You can sit inside or out in the enclosed garden, bring your own book or read one of theirs. It’s also a great place to find out what’s happening in the area.

A 30-minute drive from Sea Ranch, you’ll find great food and very pleasant servers at Point Arena’s Rollerville Cafe. Their indoor seating is extremely cozy. It’s not often you find a small restaurant with such good ingredients and unique menu items–and they never skimp on the portions! Regulars swear the eggs/crab benedict is absolutely the best anywhere. Crab cakes are another local favorite: light, rich and loaded with crab. If you’re able to visit the lighthouse afterwards (just two miles away), your day will be made.

You’ll find them inside the mall, next to Gualala Supermarket.
